Choose PNG over JPG when the pages are mostly text, line art, charts or diagrams. PNG keeps edges sharp with no compression artefacts, which matters for slides, documentation and anything you are going to crop or annotate.
What to expect
Pages are rendered at 150 dpi as lossless PNG. Text-heavy pages stay crisp, but pages full of photographs make larger files than JPG would. One page gives one PNG; several pages come back as a ZIP with one image per page.
Tip: For a photo-heavy brochure or magazine, PDF to JPG gives much lighter files with no visible difference.

What is PDF?
