SVG logos and icons are perfect for websites, but presentation software, social networks, email signatures, app stores and many content management systems want a bitmap. PNG keeps the transparent background most logos rely on.
What to expect
The SVG is drawn at the size declared in the file (its width and height, or its viewBox when those are missing), with transparency kept. Fonts the SVG names but doesn't embed may be replaced with a similar font, and images linked from other websites are not fetched.
Tip: Need a bigger PNG? Raise the width and height attributes in the SVG before converting: it is redrawn sharp at any size, which enlarging a PNG afterwards can't do.
